Décorum - A game about passive-aggressive cohabitation.
A game by Charlie Mackin, Harry Mackin, and Drew Tenenbaum - Artwork by Michael Mateyko.
Décorum is a cooperative, hidden-information game where you and your fellow players pursue the same goal: furnishing your home to make everyone happy. The problem is, each of you is happy with different things, and no one explicitly states what they need. Can you find a compromise, or is it time to move out?
At its core, Décorum is a fairly simple logic puzzle. There are a small number of ways to arrange the furnishings to simultaneously satisfy all the requirements listed on the players' rule sheets. The trick with Décorum is that it's also a hidden-information game. No player knows all the rules. During the game, players must observe their fellow players' moves as carefully as they plan their own. Even more crucially, they must – with the very limited means the game provides – communicate why they are making the moves they are making.
