Crown of Ash is a strategic worker-placement and area control game for 1 to 4 players. The promise of dreamless sleep was a lie. The Lords awakened after a hundred years of staring into the deepest depths of oblivion; each moment plagued by nightmarish dreams. The gloomy slumber had revealed an ancient secret to them: the arcane knowledge of necromancy. It gave them the ability to raise armies from the wastelands of their lands. Those who had fallen in the first war would rise again and march into a bloody second war, a devastating conflict that would decide who would ultimately lay claim to the Crown of Ash.

Players take on the role of vengeful necromancers. They send out their loyal servants to carry out their commands, gather resources to raise powerful undead armies, construct mighty buildings that offer better resources, and gain influence over the land. They march their undead armies into battle to capture other players' buildings and defend their own with all their might. Over 4 rounds, players earn influence points based on the buildings they control, and the player with the most influence at the end of the game takes control of the kingdom and reigns for all time.
