Game Summary: Players are the great warlords of their tribe. Their task is to protect the village from attacking Draugr and Trolls, but at the same time to gain as much fame and wealth as possible through raids on distant coasts. To do this, they hire various warriors to lead into battle and plan the logistics in the form of ships and food for long raiding trips, which they then undertake with the warriors. Every action is a trade-off between effort and risk, as much depends on the luck of the battle. Champions of Midgard is a peculiar, in a positive sense, mix of worker placement and push-your-luck game. The warriors hired by the players are represented by special dice, which are then rolled when combat occurs. They might miss their target or, all on their own, perform heroic deeds. The appeal of the game lies in weighing the risk correctly and skillfully using resources based on that. The game setup offers several variable components that ensure the game's replayability in the long run.
