Game Summary:​
As a middle-class lady in Victorian Britain, you can only dream of marrying the noble Duke. But luckily, your parents have left you a small dowry and some land. So stop frowning, put on your politest smile, and go in search of a suitable husband. Just because you weren't born into nobility doesn't mean you can't marry into it! 
Only through clever investments and strategic marriages will you one day be able to call yourself a Duchess. But be careful not to attract the attention of the gossips! If you fall into too much disrepute, the Duke might pass you over and choose another bride!

The game is played over several rounds. Each round consists of four consecutive phases: Cards, Investment, Husband, and Household Management.

You can play out investments and lands in your tableau during the investment phase, and trigger events and abilities of your husband. Choose the cause of death for your beloved spouse - perhaps a sneaky stab with a stiletto, some cyanide, or an honest strangulation?
If you are not currently married, you can console yourself with a remarriage and continue to climb the social ladder. Perhaps a professor is available, or an Earl...

You win if you currently have no husband, enjoy a low reputation, spend 120 crowns, and play a remarriage card to marry the Duke.
