In a neighborly competition, exactly two people compete against each other in Beer & Bread. As heads of a small village, they compete over six years for the most delicious beer and the crispiest bread. Players share fields and ingredients, but production actions decide victory and defeat. Only those who create a balanced ratio of beer and bread will be victorious, because only the less lucrative commodity is scored.

A game of Beer & Bread takes place over six rounds. Fertile and dry years alternate. In each year, fields are first equipped with ingredient markers, then cards are dealt. In the action phase, cards are then played alternately. Each card has three sections: Harvest & Storage, Production & Sale, and Expansion & Cleaning. However, when playing, only one of the actions can ever be used. Players must therefore carefully consider which action they want to use next. The fertile years are particularly challenging, because in these years, card hands are exchanged after each turn.

Beer & Bread is the first part of the Deep Print Games "For 2" series for exactly two players.
