In Deception: Murder in Hong Kong, players take on roles in a crime story full of intrigue, murder, deduction, and deception. One player is the murderer: they secretly choose the murder weapon and the evidence they leave at the crime scene. Another player acts as the Forensic Scientist, who holds the key to identifying the perpetrator but can only communicate with the other players through crime scene analysis. These players are the Investigators, and they try to solve the case based on the clues – but the perpetrator is one of them. The Investigators must work together cleverly, follow their intuition, and draw the right conclusions to find the murder weapon and evidence and apprehend the murderer. The murderer, in turn, must confuse the Investigators and lead them astray to save their own skin.
