The Evangelists report that at the Last Supper, in addition to Jesus and his apostles, numerous other people were present. It is assumed that some of them were in the same room and the others were distributed around the house. For only a few days earlier, Jesus had entered Jerusalem surrounded by a large crowd, and many disciples went to the dining hall on Mount Zion to celebrate the Passover, the highest festival in Judaism.

In Ierusalem, Anno Domini, you embody various communities of Jesus' disciples who have come from the surrounding villages and cities to Jerusalem. They want to participate in the Last Supper and sit as close as possible to Jesus and his apostles. To do this, you play cards and collect resources.
Your goal is to send as many of your own disciples as possible to the Last Supper. The closer they are to Jesus and his apostles there, the more points you will receive at the end of the game.

The most important element of this game are the cards and the order in which you play them. Each card shows a symbol of one of five locations in and around Jerusalem in the upper left corner. By playing the cards, you form sets of these symbols. With the right sets, you can place apostles at the Last Supper table. This also brings you advantages. At the same time, however, you also want to plan the actions that the cards allow you so that you can collect the right resources at the right time and send your disciples to the Last Supper.

What makes the game special / Why it is published by Strohmann Games:

The religious theme is approached historically here and achieves the difficult balancing act: it is in no way "missionary", but also does not offend any religious feelings. The game is designed to embed a gaming experience in a story familiar to all of us, and the connection everyone has with the theme is their personal matter.

The theme is wonderfully woven into the game and is permanently present in many components. But Ierusalem: Anno Domini also has a lot to offer in terms of gameplay. We control our actions via a card mechanism and gradually try to place our disciples at the Last Supper in a way that earns points. At this point at the latest, the game also involves a good portion of interaction.

Warning! Not suitable for children under 36 months.
