Oak & Iron ist ein Marine-Spiel im 1/600-Skala, das im Zeitalter der Piraterie, der imperialen Expansion und vor allem des Kampfsegels spielt. Es erlaubt den Spielern, Schlachten zwischen kleinen Flotten und Staffeln von bewaffneten Segelschiffen nachzubilden. Das Spiel ist so konzipiert, dass es einfach und intuitiv ist und gleichzeitig die Spieler herausfordert, indem es erhebliche taktische Tiefe bietet, dem Thema und den Taktiken der Zeit treu bleibt und den verschiedenen im Spiel vertretenen Fraktionen einen signifikanten Geschmack verleiht. Das Spiel kann mit bis zu sechs Spielern gespielt werden, wenn es im Flottenumfang gespielt wird. Zwei Teams von jeweils drei Spielern, jeder Spieler kontrolliert eines der Squadrons.

Oak & Iron is a 1/600th scale naval game set in the age of piracy, imperial expansion, and above all, fighting sail. It allows players to recreate battles between small fleets and squadrons of armed sailing ships. The game is designed to be simple and intuitive while also challenging players by providing significant tactical depth, being true to the theme and tactics of the period, and supplying significant flavor for the various factions represented in the game.

The game can be played with up to six players when playing at fleet scale. Two teams of three players each, each player controlling one of more squadrons.
