There has been a financial crisis. Sixteen "too big to fail" companies from four countries need to be bailed out. Central banks have unlimited financial resources, so lots of money will be printed, but central bankers also face catastrophe - print too much money and the country they represent will go bust. In QE, a term which stands for "Quantitative Easing", you play the role of a central bank. You bid on companies of varying sizes to collect varying levels of victory points. The amount you bid is unlimited, as you are the central bank and the printing press is yours! After the lead player's initial "open" bid, other players secretly bid. After the sixteen companies have been "bailed out", victory points are awarded for company sets of nationalization, monopolization, and diversification. Player markers on the score track now indicate which player has the most victory points, but this is not the end. Players must now add up the total amount of money they have printed, and the player who has printed the most money loses all their victory points! Previous editions of Q.E. supported up to four players, with a fifth player expansion available separately. This new edition of Q.E. can be played with up to five players out of the box.
