Voted "Game of the Year" in 2009, Dominion established the deck-building game genre and has captivated millions worldwide.
Every player starts with a few, not very valuable cards and builds a powerful empire over the course of the game - actually quite simple, yet so varied and exciting.
The card set initially contains only a few money and victory point cards. However, through various actions and purchases during the game, more and more powerful cards are added.
The aim of the game is to have as many valuable victory point cards as possible in your own card set at the end of the game. The player with the most points wins the game.
To do this, you build villages and libraries, conquer new provinces, earn gold and silver, and erect your own throne room. With each turn, your Dominion grows - but only those who strategize correctly and make the right decisions at the right time will emerge victorious at the end.
With the base game and the first (relatively simple) expansions, Dominion is a great game for families and casual players.
Thanks to the simple game mechanics, it's easy for even inexperienced players to get started - and with the 14 expansions now available, more variety, new game variants, and tactical/strategic challenges are successively added to the game.
DOMINION® Base Game is a standalone DOMINION® edition and contains both the money, victory point, and curse cards required for every game, as well as 25 different Kingdom card sets.
With the help of the enclosed rulebook and comprehensive accompanying booklet, getting started with this varied game full of exciting adventures is very easy.
