In Raiders of the North Sea: Fields of Fame, enemy Jarls have banded together to defend against attacks on their settlements. But despite their threats, fame awaits those who seek to kill or subjugate them. An encounter with a Jarl is sure to bring injuries, but now is no time for cowards. Forward to the battlefield! Fields of Fame brings a new dynamic to the game with the addition of Jarl tokens that are mixed with the Plunder and Valkyrie. When a player raids a set of Plunder with one or more Jarls, they must reveal which Jarls they encounter from the draw pile. They have the choice to kill (for fame and other rewards), subjugate (to recruit them), or flee. Killing and subjugating will inflict injuries on players, but fleeing will cost them fame or victory points. Players can also gain fame by raiding with overwhelming crews. If a crew's strength is above the highest tier for scoring victory points, players advance on the Fame Track, which awards additional victory points at the end of the game.
